Name Meaning

Luis

The Spanish name Luis means – Both French and German royal descent, the name Luis derives from the name Louis, which means “glory in war.”

The Portuguese name Luis means – A variation upon the name Louis, which means “renowned in battle.”

This quote makes a lot of sense to me. It’s never good to thing of the things you lost. It could just bring negative feelings to your life.  It could just put you down and unmotivated you. Think of what you have and be grateful. You have to appreciate the things you have and take advantage that you have them. Because you don’t know how long their going to be there.

Sportsmanship

Sportsmanship expresses an aspiration or ethos that the activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect, and a sense of fellowship with one’s competitors. 

When you play in a sport it’s always good to show sportsmanship toward the other team and your own. You have to go out there and compete hard to get the win but do it with dignity. It’s good to win and it’s good to win by a lot, but it’s not good to win by many points if you don’t show respect to your opponent. There is a certain point in which you have to pull back a bit and not be aggressive. Show sportsmanship to the other team. To go out and be competitive is always good to do, its what a coach wants to see in their players, to go out and do their best to get the win. But when you start to disrespect the other team, you are not showing sportsmanship towards them. If you accidently hit an opponent offer your apology. If an opponent fall to the floor help him up. Its always good to show sportsmanship to your opponents. When I played in the school basketball team my teammates and my opponents always show sportsmanship. There was only around 3 incidents where there was no sportsmanship shown.

Two good examples of sportsmanship to came to mind are: 

1. In many occasions, during a game if either a teammate or opponent fell the person closes no matter what time they were from would help the player up.
2. Another example would be when we played in this league, and our opponents didn’t have a complete squad. We decided to just waive the game off, and mix the players and have a fun scrimmage. If we would have play the game we would have easily won, but we though it was better to play the official game another day to make it fair.

Week Off

This last week we had a whole week off for Thanksgiving. I had a good time. I got the chance to spend time with my friends and family. On monday mourning me and two friends of mines went to IHop to go eat breakfast. After we came to school to meet up with another friend of ours that had practice that day for soccer. We went to one our friend’s house to spend the time. It was cool having the chance to catch up on things with two of those friends because i haven’t talked to them in awhile. 

On thursday night I dedicated my whole time to my family. We spent the time all together. We all eat till we were full. When then just sat all together and talk for the rest of the night. 

On friday mourning I took my little sister and one our closes friends to go out eat breakfast. We then went to our friend’s house and we sat their watching tv for awhile until we had to leave.

On Saturday, one of the friends that I hadn’t  seen for awhile that I saw on monday invite me to go to a party with her and her parents.  We both used the time to continue catching up on things. 

Besides that I work for 4 day on my part-time job. It was a good vacation and I had a great time. I can’t wait for the winter break.

Thanksgiving Week-Off

This coming week we gonna get the whole week of for Thanksgiving. It’s the first time that the district going to give the whole week of, all cause of the budget cuts. What I am planning to do that week is:

• Go to play basketball
• Work 
• Go out with friends
• And obviously spent time with the family on Thanksgiving night, hopefully I don’t work that day

I just hope I get to have some fun and rest a bit before having to come back to school. And have a great meal and night with the family on Thanksgiving.
